Human Resources Generalist (Temporary / Maternity Leave)

We seek a HR Generalist (Temporary – Maternity Leave) to join our team for 12 to 18 months. This individual will be responsible for a variety of areas such as recruiting, on-boarding, benefits administration, and general HR administration. This opportunity may convert to a permanent position for the right candidate.

Vanrx Pharmasystems makes the most technologically advanced sterile filling solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. Vanrx fill-finish machines use isolated robotics and machine vision to automate the packaging of injectable drugs into nested vials, syringes or cartridges.

The company was founded by pharmaceutical industry veterans to create the systems needed to make the next generation of innovative therapies.



  • Help grow the Vanrx team by recruiting new hires.
    • Posting job openings to job search platform when a Job Request is approved by HR/CEO.
    • Helping to review applicant resumes and cover letters.
    • Making initial contact with candidates.
    • Conducting phone-screens, assessing candidates against company core values, and
      scheduling in-person interviews with line managers and internal teams.
    • Perform facility tours for and facilitate in-person interviews for prospective candidates.
    • Provide effective feedback and communication to candidates throughout the recruiting
  • Work with IT to prepare for and set up new employee workstations.
  • Administer various employee management tools such as MSP, extended benefits, payroll/time off.
  • Publish co-op positions on university co-op platforms, organize interviews with respective departments, and draft paperwork for review by HR Manager once candidate is selected.
  • Keep company organizational chart and employee directory up to date.
  • Work with Accounting/HR team in preparation and review of regular payroll runs.
  • Prepare customs/immigration documents for employees travelling internationally on work assignments.
  • Facilitate annual performance reviews using internal workflow tool.
  • Facilitate company-wide initiatives such as Lunch and Learns.


Skills and Experience Required

  • 3 or more years of experience in an HR role.
  • Effective communication and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in an HR-related program (or equivalent work experience) considered an asset.
  • A people-first attitude and a strong problem-solving skillset are highly useful.
  • Exceptional computer skills are an asset.
