Manufacturing Manager

The Manufacturing Manager position will be responsible for all operations pertaining to the building of our systems. This position plays a critical role in leading manufacturing operations, monitoring production efficiency, and overseeing the development of employees.

The Manufacturing Manager will have both strategic and operational responsibilities focusing on capacity planning, managing direct costs & overhead expenses, and supporting internal customers within the operation.

Exceptional communication, delegation and leadership skills are key requirements for the role. The role also requires close interaction internally with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Service teams.

Vanrx Pharmasystems makes the most technologically advanced sterile filling solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. Vanrx fill-finish machines use isolated robotics and machine vision to automate the packaging of injectable drugs into nested vials, syringes or cartridges. The company was founded by pharmaceutical industry veterans to create the systems needed to make the next generation of innovative therapies.



  • Manage all manufacturing processes including Quality Control and Production Engineering.
  • Establish and improve mechanisms to ensure the manufacturing department produces the required builds in a timely, cost effective and top quality manner.
  • Develop and meet the production schedule and assess resource needs across the manufacturing organization to build systems efficiently and systematically.
  • Develop, implement, train and verify the manufacturing department is in compliance to appropriate workflows and SOPs.
  • Support and execute Quality Assurance initiatives.
  • Develop and perform annual performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Define and establish clear objectives and expectations; routinely provide direct feedback for performance management and development.
  • Lead, motivate and mentor direct reports in achieving their respective goals.
  • Lead and facilitate compliance to the Vanrx Safety program.
  • Identify projects and recommend appropriate course of action (e.g., discontinuation, outsource, process improvement) to maximize profitability and supply.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
  • Contribute and foster an environment which encourages, supports, and recognizes new ideas and initiatives.


Skills and Experience Required

  • Exceptional leadership and communicational skills.
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of lean manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Reliance on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Wide degree of creativity and latitude required.
  • High degree of “hands-on” mechanical and electrical proficiency.
  • A post-secondary degree or equivalent diploma and experience.
