Manufacturing Manager

Our award winning company is currently seeking a Manufacturing Manager who will be responsible for the manufacturing of our filling systems. Reporting to the VP, Operations you will lead a manufacturing department of talented electrical, mechanical and manufacturing technicians. You will use your in-depth knowledge of lean methodologies, hands-on problem solving skills and high competency in planning, to help drive our success. You will also work internally with our Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse teams. This role is a contributing and instrumental member of an experienced and hard working team.

Our products incorporate robotics, machine vision, motion control, and many sensing and automation technologies – being excited by technology and an eagerness towards continuous learning are key for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all manufacturing processes in the assembly of Vanrx products.
  • Develop and improve processes to ensure the manufacturing department continually meets timelines.
  • Develop the manufacturing schedule and assess resource needs across the manufacturing organization to build systems efficiently and systematically.
  • Champion the Safety Program for the Vanrx site.
  • Execute hiring, training, coaching and performance reviews of all direct reports.
  • Lead, motivate and mentor direct reports in achieving their respective goals.
  • Identify improvements and recommend appropriate course of action (e.g., discontinuation, outsource, process improvement) to maximize profitability and supply.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
  • Contribute and foster an environment which encourages, supports, and recognizes new ideas and initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills required.
  • Extensive working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge in ERP functionality and BOM intelligence.
  • Continuous improvement process experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset.
  • Ability to rely on your experience and judgement to plan and accomplish objectives.
  • 7+ years experience in management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • A post-secondary degree or equivalent diploma and experience.
