Mechanical Engineer

Our award winning company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Production Engineering Department to develop, verify, and maintain the design of our advanced filling solutions. This position involves close interaction with planning, quality, research and development, electrical engineering, control systems engineering and manufacturing teams. Exceptional communication skills, technical competency and problem solving skills are key requirements for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems
  • Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by designing and conducting research programs and applying the applicable engineering principles
  • Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods
  • Develop the manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components
  • Assure product and system quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Provides engineering support by answering questions and requests.
  • Support Vanrx’s Service team
  • Contributes to the overall success of the company by accomplishing related results where required

Required Skills and Experience

  • Advanced experience in 3D CAD design and 2D detailed drawings using Solidworks
  • Expert level knowledge of tolerancing and GD&T
  • Experience in regulated industries (Pharma, Food, Aerospace) is an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Three or more years of experience in mechanical design drafting with a certificate, diploma, or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing of precision parts
  • Experience with developing and maintaining design documentation throughout a product’s lifecycle
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with a post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent
