Vancouver Planner Jobs


We seek a Planner to organize production according to demand and quality standards. You will be the one to ensure that goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner meeting company milestones. Create and maintain production schedules in order to ensure that all company goals are achieved and that deadlines are met. Planners use their knowledge of the production process and reports to create daily and weekly production schedules that adheres to the master schedule. They must also be able to comprehend reports and make recommendations about where improvements might be made. Must be able to multitask and provide quick responses to production problems. Must make collaborative efforts with supply chain and warehouse to ensure to effectively execute the manufacturing build plan.

An excellent planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. You should be organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are very useful for the role.

The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations. The role also requires close interaction internally with key stakeholders.

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Maintain schedule according to the company’s master schedule.
  • Create Work Orders for manufactured assemblies per Sales Order or production schedule.
  • Identify problems and help improve processes.
  • Ensure that company deadlines are met.
  • Gather inputs from key project stakeholders.
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Monitor production status to ensure they will finish on time.
  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
  • Work with production management, purchasing and floor personnel to keep jobs on track.
  • Work with Warehouse and Procurement in identifying shortages and making sure parts arrive on time.
  • Notify affected parties for the impact of a delay that might affect schedule.
  • Collaborate with quality control, production engineering, procurement, warehouse and other staff.


Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a planner role.
  • In depth knowledge of project planning & scheduling concepts, terminology and methodologies.
  • Proven capacity to create and maintain complex schedules.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, track and multitask
  • Strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
  • Self-directed with a sense of urgency.
  • Self-starter and a team player.
  • Performing such duties, functions and responsibilities as assigned by Vanrx.
