Senior Analyst, Finance

Start date: August 2020, 13-month maternity leave coverage

Vanrx Pharmasystems makes the most technologically advanced sterile filling solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. Vanrx fill-finish machines use isolated robotics and machine vision to automate the packaging of injectable drugs into nested vials, syringes or cartridges. The company was founded by pharmaceutical industry veterans to create the systems needed to make the next generation of innovative therapies.

We seek a versatile Finance professional to provide analysis of business drivers and transactions, coordination and preparation of forward-looking financial information such as forecasts and budgets, and support to the Controller’s team with manufacturing and supply chain analysis. The Senior Analyst is needed to fill a temporary role caused by a maternity leave. This is a “hands-on” role with an opportunity to make a significant impact on a rapidly growing company. Reporting to the VP Finance, the Senior Analyst’s role is the forward-looking and analytical engine of the Company to provide insights and support optimal business decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate periodic (up to 3-4/year) “Latest Estimate” forecasting processes, with one Latest Estimate constituting the annual budget
  • Maintain longer-term strategic financial model including relevant key assumptions
  • Maintain financial forecast for current fiscal year based on order backlog and most likely activities, expenditures and expected standard production costs
  • Report actual results to budget owners via corporate performance management tool
  • Support Controller’s team as needed, for example in period-end processes (through deep analysis of manufacturing and supply chain operations)
  • Prepare and provide analyses of results of monthly and year-to-date financial reports (including variances to forecast) and be able to make business recommendations based on results. Follow “Simple Numbers” approach (for example) to managerial accounting analysis.
  • Maintain and distribute weekly snapshot report of open sales order backlog and expected fulfillment dates by product, services and consumables. Work with IT team to automate and integrate into financial planning tool.
  • Maintain near-term cash flow forecast and determine currency requirements
  • Report product/project profitability (based on forecast or anticipated figures) approximately monthly and finalized at product/project completion
  • Special projects such as development of  appropriate transfer pricing methodology for international intracompany transactions based on functional analyses
  • Ad hoc economic analyses as required for decision-making purposes

Skills and Experience required

  • Professional financial analysis or accounting designation
  • Experience with a corporate performance management tool (e.g. Workday Adaptive Planning)
  • Experience in a multinational technology manufacturer is strongly preferred
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and mentor team members.
  • Good financial and business judgment skills and instincts to go along with detail orientation.
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment, to move things forward, to meet stringent timelines, and to handle multiple demands simultaneously.
