Senior Mechanical Engineer

Vanrx Pharmasystems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop, verify, and maintain the design of our advanced filling solutions. The role of Senior Mechanical Engineer is an exciting and diverse opportunity to help drive our company’s rapid growth and be a contributing and instrumental member of an experienced engineering team.

This position involves close interaction with planning, research and development, electrical engineering, control systems engineering and manufacturing teams. Exceptional communication skills, technical competency and problem solving skills are key requirements for the role.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design for manufacturing, verification, and validation to ensure process requirements are met
  • Review and approve engineering drawings
  • Develop and maintain accurate design and verification documents
  • Perform hands-on testing of designs to mitigate high technical risk
  • Evaluate new system components and proposed design changes, both internal and external
  • Co-ordinating with multiple engineering and operational groups
  • Evaluate, verify, and support fabrication service providers to meet technical requirements and project timelines
  • Generate and review Finite Element Analysis simulations
  • Design and maintain machine tooling to ensure compatibility with various components from partner suppliers
  • Following strict procedures and other duties as directed

Skills and Experience Required

  • Design and review complex systems using Solidworks
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing inc. tolerance stack ups of complex assemblies
  • 8-10 years of experience
  • Post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing of precision parts
  • Experience with developing and maintaining design documentation throughout a product’s lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Visual Basic and macro writing considered an asset
  • Experience in regulated industries (pharma, food, aerospace) is an asset
  • Proven ability to self manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) system(s)
