Vendor Manager

We seek a Vendor Manager with a strong background in a fast paced high-technology manufacturing industry. This position will be responsible for building and maintaining strong vendor relationships to ensure every Vanrx purchase meets the highest standards of quality, service, delivery, cost objectives, and customer satisfaction.

Vanrx Pharmasystems makes the most technologically advanced sterile filling solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. Vanrx fill-finish machines use isolated robotics and machine vision to automate the packaging of injectable drugs into nested vials, syringes or cartridges. The company was founded by pharmaceutical industry veterans to create the systems needed to make the next generation of innovative therapies.

  • Evaluate, recommend, and be responsible for procurement functions directly associated with Vanrx’s needs and demands: indirect and direct materials/services.
  • Establish and execute internal methodologies for the full vendor engagement lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiations, vendor on-boarding, supplier performance management, and termination.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate product and service information, availability, delivery, and price; negotiate for pricing based on a total Supply Chain structure including volume pricing.
  • Develop and foster successful, long-term business relationships and ongoing process improvements with key suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities for operational and procurement process improvements.
  • Investigate, negotiate, and bind Vanrx contracts regarding pricing, costs, and discounting.
  • Balance vendors’ quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Prepare, manage, and review contracts, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, acceptability of items to specifications, and overall compliance with contract terms.
  • Evaluate order and bid documentation to ensure proper use of company funds in the acquisition of supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Identify, analyze, and correct problems with cost of procurement, shipping and handling, delivery, and quality.
  • Resolve contract performance and payment issues, manage third party contract interface and maintain related purchase orders and contracts.
  • Advise team members and management on the appropriate supplier to be used.
  • Create and maintain documentation, reports and standard operating procedures for vendor relations processes and systems.


Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field and 4 years of related experience, or equivalent of 8 years combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with vendor management and inventory/supply chain required.
  • Excellent knowledge of end-to-end supply management processes including competitive bidding, contract management, and supplier performance management.
  • Proven negotiation and collaboration skills with vendors at all levels.
  • Good working knowledge of GD&T practices and how it relates to the inspection of mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with machining processes such as CNC milling, turning, welding, fabrication, etc.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to build strong working relationships with individuals of varying personalities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with focus on execution, problem solving, and improving processes.
  • Strong knowledge in inventory management systems and ERP/CRM software.
