Exploring the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing

Vanrx hosted the BioPhorum Operations Group (BPOG) at our headquarters on June 23-25. BPOG is a global community of senior technical leaders from 29 of the most innovative biotech companies. Their Fill Finish group is focused on the current flexibility and capacity shortage in aseptic filling. Their objective is to assess emerging filling and inspection technologies and generate a roadmap for technology adoption.
During their visit to our facility, we talked about our design philosophy and how it has led us to radically change aseptic processing. The attendees received an in-depth technology briefing, including our rapid VPHP decontamination, our advanced vision control, and our nested material handling. They also viewed a demonstration of the filling and stoppering processes in an SA25 Aseptic Filling Workcell on the floor of our assembly hall.
We received positive feedback from the attendees at the end of the visit. The consensus was that fill finish equipment needed to become more modular, more flexible, and more automated to meet the challenges of the future. Large-scale blockbuster drugs are being replaced by smaller volume, personalized therapeutics. Large purpose-built facilities are no longer economical. Smaller multi-product facilities are required to adapt to the changing conditions.
We are well positioned to respond to these challenges. By listening to our end users, Vanrx develops technologies that meet tomorrow’s needs, today.
